OUR FORGOTTEN ACTS OF GOODNESS
“A
goodness you do by waiting for a return
is
not a goodness,
but
just a cunning investment in the future.”
Mehemet

Life
is short… It gets even shorter through our complaints. When our complaints
occupy our major mind-space, it is difficult for us to notice and appreciate the
beautiful gifts we are blessed with… Complaints make life look like a bottomless
pit… No matter how valuable gifts God puts into it, they all go down into this
pit with no bottom!
Our complaints breed
our unhappiness – our disappointments, hurts, sorrow, self-pity and pain.
A major
complaint, which many of us carry in life, is, that we do not find people reciprocating
our goodness towards them...
Sounds familiar?
Let’s see it
from both ends…
We complain,
saying, that those who we have helped are ungrateful to us. On the other hand,
others who have helped us complain, saying, that we are ungrateful to them.
Thus, just as we feel hurt and angry, there are others feeling hurt and angry,
too.
This goes on and
on and on…
Through this, life,
which is already short, gets even shorter.
A major complaint, which many of us carry in life, is, that we do not find people reciprocating our goodness towards them...
The lesser we remember the names and the times when help others, the more peaceful we can be. Our goodness towards others is our reward in itself… The more we forget, the better it is for us… Life can be more fruitful.
Here, we have a lot to learn from the little squirrels of the forests… It’s said, that they forget more than seventy-five percent of the places where they bury their nuts… These forgotten nuts grow up into mighty trees… The nuts naturally dropped by these trees, eventually, grow into wide-ranging forests…
Likewise, will grow our forgotten acts of goodness… The lesser we keep count of them, the better it is for us… The more we forget our acts of goodness, the more peaceful it is for us…
Neki kar aur
daria mein daal…
Let others
complain… That’s their karma. Let’s drop our complaints… That’s our dharma.
