HOW CAN WE KEEP OUR FAITH... IN LIFE?

The night before last, my wife and I were watching the NDTV news. The entire segment was dedicated to the horrific shoot-out incident at the Connecticut school in the US. A young lady-reporter was presenting the news, all overwhelmed by emotions. Her voice was choked and cracking as she went about unfolding the unbelievable sad tragedy…

And, tears just rolled down our eyes… both mine and my wife’s!

We saw President Obama crying as he paid moving homage to so many tender ones… and to those innocent teachers and others who lost their lives…

Today, I read in the newspaper about this incident: A woman, in another sate in the US, who was listening to the radio news while driving was so overpowered by grief that she was unable to drive any further… She parked her car on sideways and sobbed uncontrollably… till her heart calmed down!

Those were such small children… so innocent… so tender!

No, it shouldn’t have happened to them, at least… No, not in a school… Not in the manner it happened. So brutally!

But, what difference does it make if I say this, now?

Well, the guns and daggers can be banned…

The violent movies and games can be banned…

The best of Police security can be provided…

But, how can we stop an individual – an Adam Lanza in Connecticut school or a James Holmes in Colorado cinema - from embarking upon such suicidal missions?

If not guns and daggers, it will be something else…

To destroy with such insanity, one does not necessarily need fire-weapons…

A mad man can poison the whole city to death… by one such sinister act!

But, trust me… Sinister things do not happen too often… Just the way air-planes and fast trains do not crash too often… just as ships do not sink every other day… and just as the Twin-tower drama does not unfold every second day!

Trust me… The World is, predominantly,

a safe place to live in…

And, Life is, predominantly, beautiful!

As I write this piece, my eyes are still welling… My heart still keeps saying, “No, it should not have happened to such little angels…”

But, that’s how our sorrow and grief should be… our fears and anxieties should be… To be there in our lives, occasionally, in order to make our lives even stronger… in order to instill in our hearts even more faith about the goodness of life…

I hope, all those grieving parents and relatives, those dear and near ones… the whole world… will soon overcome the grief… and embrace Life with their open arms… with even more trust, love and compassion.

Let’s not ask, “Why did Adam Lanza do it?”…

Let’s ask, “How can we keep our faith… in Life?”

Very sad incident. Left me shocked. Words cannot describe the pain the families of the victims are going through......but everthing in this world has something to teach us.......we all, all of us should take sorrows as a wake-up call. To awaken the soul consciousness and to realise that we are immortal, eternal,, infinite. This world which is nothing but the effect of our body consciousness, is safe place to live in but is full of miseries. So sorrow is the greatest teacher.......to awaken us from this dream called life. Lets keep faith in life, in God to know ourselves......we are souls, pure and blissful. Till we reach that awareness, we have to keep the faith that the basis of this whole world is Goodness. Good over evil....and evil is in our own minds. God too is within. It is now upon us to be godly or devilish.
