THE FOUR QUESTION MARKS
One
of the nails you and I hammer while we raise our houses of failure is - giving
up when we feel discouraged.
Trust me, it’s
not easy to be optimistic and stay hopeful when this nail hits us hard. But,
then, one thing is sure: If you and I love life, believe in the goodness our
hearts possess – and, above all, if we recognize how fortunate we are for the
blessings God has bestowed upon us, yes, right through this deep sense of
gratitude for the gift of life, all our feelings of discouragement can dissolve.
Nothing is going to cripple our souls till we choose to celebrate life...
All of us start
dreaming, because we believe in our innate goodness... not because other believe
in us. Others belief in us can be a great help, but not before we believe in
our own selves...
Giving up when
discouraged – when people say ‘No’, or show discouragement – yes, giving up
when discouraged is a pure excuse. As Jim Rohn puts it, it’s a nail we allow ourselves
to be hit hard with - to raise our houses
of failure...
Amid one of such
days – of feeling a lot discouraged – early this morning, I saw a message from an
ardent reader of my blogs. This person lives in another continent, and must’ve
have sent this message while retiring to bed, last night... and it reached me here when I
opened my eyes (literally and figuratively, both), this morning. The message was simple...
Here it is:
????
It’s easy to
decode: “More than four days, no blog from you – what happened, my friend?”
Discouragement
and encouragement – well, we are just humans not to be spared from their impact
on our spirits. The only way to shake off the blues of our crippled souls is to
administer the injection of encouragement... yes, time and time again. To
paraphrase Helen Keller’s words, the only way to beat the loud sound of the shutting
door (of discouragement) is to pay attention to hear the gentle sound of the
door (of encouragement) that quietly opens for us...
There is enough
reason – here, right now – to get up and celebrate... to shout loudly: “Enough
of excuses”. This morning, the four question marks from my offshore friend made
me hear the gentle sound of the door that’s was quietly opening... Another door
opened, quietly, simultaneously... I saw Musa’s incredible dance...
Helen Keller was
blind, deaf and dumb, all in one. Musa’s leg was amputated (due to cancer) when
he was a little boy... Both refused to give up on life; both chose to celebrate
it...
And, what are my
problems? What are my complaints?
And, they are
only two question marks, still - not even four.
