I n Napoleon Hill’s famous book, ‘Law of Success’, he emphasized on many principles (Laws) of success. Essentially, they were nothing but the personal attributes, or, to be precise, the attitudes we needed to succeed. The ones that made a lot of sense to me, when I was ‘struggling and seeking’ in my life, were these two simple personal-attributes: Initiative and Enthusiasm. I was amazed to realize how easily these two attributes could be owned by all of us… How important and effective they were . When we are enthusiastic, we simply glow… It reflects in our speech and action… It is simply infectious! The attribute of Initiative goes hand-in-hand with the attribute of Enthusiasm. It is difficult to tell as to which comes first – Enthusiasm or Initiative… They are twins! Initiative is the quality of doing the work without being told. It’s the quality of going the ‘extra-mile’… doing the work with joy, not for money alone… Both, Enthusiasm and Ini...

Pic.: Pradeep Nanda I n my last Post – ‘Accha Hai… Toh Rak Lo’, I had written about a simple yet powerful law of success:  “If you like it, keep it.” I had said, “Don’t just say ‘ Accha hai’ , it is very nice… I like it. Decide to keep it. Else, it doesn’t become yours.” Unless, we desire to have it, we won’t have it… Satish, a dear friend of mine, wrote to me: “Sir, this means keep only good things?” “Oh yes, yes, Satish,” I replied, “And, you know what: even the ‘good things’ are ‘bad things’ if we do not learn to let go of them when we have to!” What did I mean by that? And, why did I say that? We invest a lot of energy and attention in what we decide to keep, own. The quality of our life is decided by the way we view whatever we own in life… It depends on the kind of relationship we weave around our possessions… So, as much as it is true, that unless we like something, we do not attract it… and unless we decide to keep what we lik...

The contestant was Sunil Pal…  The dialogue in the act went something like this… Stranger to the drunkard: “Naam kya hai tumara?” Drunkard: “Lalloo.” Stranger: “Accha hai.” Drunkard: “Toh rak lo!” So quick and so spontaneous – and, moreover, so fresh - was the response – ‘Toh, rak lo'.. . that I, instantly, decided to ‘keep’ it!
