KEEP YOUR BLOOD PURE
“You are only
disturbed, not destroyed.”
This is how I try
to shake off my pain, fear and anxiety regularly… For, pain, fear and anxiety
keep returning to my heart very regularly…
When you just seem
to have recovered from one jolt, lo… there comes another… The saga continues…
I have stopped praying
to God to give me a life free from pain, fear and anxiety… I only pray for the
wisdom, grace and strength to deal with them… Therefore, wishing for a life
free from pain, fear and anxiety is akin to a death-wish… Meaning wishing to
die!
That’s why the Wise
say, that the only place you find people free from pain-fear-anxiety is GRAVE!
Sunita, a friend of
mine, is a gifted poet. A few minutes ago, I happened to read a touching poem
she had shared on FB. It started with these simple lines…
They
lie
They
say that time heals all wounds
Well
they lie!
One can get the essence of the entire poem
just by reading these three simple lines…
I wrote to Sunita what I felt very strongly…
“Just beautiful, dear Sunita! Early today morning, this
phrase was playing on my mind: 'WE CREATE THE BEST WHEN WE FEEL THE WORST'!
Poems, songs, movies, paintings, music, dance, even sports and business... the
best can come out of the churning within. May the next book come soon! Love and
wishes.”
Is that not true?
The best poems,
songs, music, essays, stories, movies, paintings, dance, sports, speeches and
ventures… yes, all of them come to life ‘only’ through deep churning within…
So, the sorrow and pain, fear and anxiety contain the seeds of hope, joy, and
freedom…
Don’t they?
I also happened to watch another video shared on FB this morning. It’s about a German woman by the name Irmela Mensah-Schramm. She is 71 now. Some thirty years ago, when she had visited, for the first time, the Nazi Concentration camps, a deep churning had taken place in her soul… Though Hitler and his Nazi were long dead and gone, the human hatred still ran rampant… Hatred spilled out by way of stickers and writings on the walls… everywhere around the Berlin streets… right from light poles to post boxes. What this woman decided to do was to remove those stickers or spray paint on the hateful messages… She clicked pictures of each of those messages before she did them away… thousands and thousands of them, which are now placed in the National museum… Her maiden visit to the Concentration camps had awakened her and handed her the mission of her life… and she has kept fulfilling it, ever since, despite threats and assaults from the hardcore…
“German woman! Don’t let foreigners touch you. Keep your
blood pure. You hold within you the future of the race!”
This message dates
back to Hitler days and Irmela Mensah-Schramm still gets to erase this again
and again and again…
How interesting:
The hardcore who writes this hate message urges his fellow-Germans to keep
their blood pure… and, this, amazing woman, who erases this message, too, urges
them to keep their blood pure!
Yea, I should have
mentioned this earlier… that, when pain, fear and anxiety beset our souls, they
can even destroy us with the poison of hatred and bitterness…
Thank God for the
constant reminder in my soul: “You are only disturbed, not destroyed”… Thank
God my blood is still not poisoned!
