ARE YOU RETIRED OR SOMETHING?

Image
“You don’t stop laughing when you grow old; you grow old when you stop laughing.” George Bernard Shaw   W hether we like it or not, and whether we want it or not, we age… the body and the mind begin to lose their vitality, their responses. To some, the deterioration comes faster, and to some, a little later… but, it does come, Sir. None of us will stay eternally young, dashing, agile, alert, attractive - and making headlines. Even if we want to, we won’t be able to… Hema Malini was, once, a dream girl, right? She fell for a very, very handsome married man, Dharmendra… Today, Hema Malini is relatively active via politics (Even though, some of us wonder what has been her contribution in that sphere!). Dharmendra, apparently, spends most of his time in his farms… But, every time I watch this Sholaywala Veeru and compare him with his ‘dost’ – Jai, aka , Amitabh Bachchan, I wonder, why Jai is still there in that space, and Veeru, sadly, isn’t! WHEN YOU GET THE CHOICE TO SIT OUT OR DANCE...

Image
Pic.: Vinod Krishnan I HOPE YOU DANCE I hope you never lose your sense of wonder, You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger, May you never take one single breath for granted, GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed, I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean, Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens, Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance. I hope you dance....I hope you dance. I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance, Never settle for the path of least resistance Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin', Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin', Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter, When you come close to sellin' out reconsider, Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance, And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance. I hop...

THE LAST LECTURE

Pic.: Vincent D'Souza P robably, many of you must’ve heard about Randy Pausch and his very, very inspiring book – ‘The Last Lecture’. But, I hadn’t... till this morning, when I had been to the school founded by my dear student-and-friend, Pratap. Like me, Pratap, too, is a voracious reader and has built a rich library in his school. It was there, he placed in my hand a copy of ‘The Last Lecture’ and asked, “Sir, have you read this book?” Before I could answer, I had already borrowed the book! I am asking you, now, the same question: “Have you read this book?” If not, please do! So, for those who were like me – ignorant about a man called Randy Pausch - I am writing this Post... R andy Pausch was a Professor of Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, and Design at Carnegie Mellon University. He was married to Jai and had three little children – all between the age one and five. In September 2006, Pausch was...
