MAY LOVE BE THE LAST SONG THAT YOU SING
“Everybody is talented;
\because, everybody
who is human
has something to
express.”
Brenda Ueland
The quote above makes
me reflect… “Everybody who is human has something to express.” Hence, it says,
“Everybody is talented.”
Now, is that
really true?
To think, that
God hasn’t created any human without this incessant desire to ‘express is what
‘belief’ is all about…
Yes, there is
something special preloaded when God sends us into the world. He knows about
it; but, very often, we don’t. And, to me, waking up to our special gifts
preloaded by God – is our enlightenment…
I did not know,
that my special gift from God was to teach and write. But, I remember how
restless I was to express myself in some form or the other. When I was a little
boy, I found great joy in drawing and colouring… I remember spending hours trying
to express something through this medium. But, soon, it died down… Sports, dancing,
singing, acting – I never came anywhere close to these forms of expression.
But, there was this incessant restlessness to tell my stories, to feel good
about myself by doing that… and, in my F.Y. B. Com, when I saw my idol, Prof.
B.S. Raman, I woke up to the gift wrapped and hidden inside me by God… I wanted
to teach, write – and express myself… tell my stories through this medium… Feel
good about myself, feel worthwhile…
So, if that’s
true to me, I think, it’s true to every human on this earth, too. This means,
God doesn’t send any of us to this earth without some talents – some gifts –
already preloaded inside us…
To wake up to
them… Yes, as I said, is enlightenment, to me…
Everything I
have been doing is woven around this discovery…
Ever since I
discovered my own gifts, I have been telling this to every young soul: “Know
thy talents… and know it early in life.”
Imagine an
entire life spent without knowing what God has preloaded in us! Yes, it’s like
walking over acres of diamonds, all our lives, without the slightest clue about
it!
Once we find our
talents, all that we need to do is to hone those talents into fine skills. When
our talents are polished into fine skills (as in my case, teaching and writing)
- we ‘express’… we feel good about ourselves… we feel worthwhile…
Still doubting?

“Birds sing after a storm… Why
shouldn’t we?”
