HOW MUCH WE KNOW, HOW MUCH WE CARE
“No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.” Theodore Roosevelt T oday, I came across these lines from Elisabeth Kubler Ross: “The most beautiful people we have known are those who have know defeats, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These persons have an appreciation, a sensitivity and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness and a deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.” While this may be true, I also wonder what makes people cruel, sadists and destructive in life! I ask these questions: Didn’t Hitler suffer in his childhood? Didn’t Osama Bin Laden or Phoolan Devi go through pain and suffering?
