HONEY, NO ECLIPSE LASTS
“There is always a
door, no matter how dark
the rooms is... Find
it and get out.”
Shafqat Bashar
We
have heard the saying, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we
used when we created them.” Albert Einstein had said this. Let me paraphrase it
this way: “We cannot solve our problems from the same place where we find them.”
It means this:
From the place we find our problems, we see everything through a smoky screen…
The mind is cluttered, confused, scared … It is in pain and anger. How can we
find a way out – a direction – unless the smoke gets cleared, and the
visibility comes back?
So, in the
statement above, we are encouraged to step aside from the place where we find
our problems – calm down, be patient, drop the blame and self-pity, our anger. And,
this is that ‘new place’ from which we are able to think clearly, see clearly,
and act wisely… Yes, every solution emerges from this place… a ‘new place’!
For
quite some time, a dear young-man has been going through a rough phase of his
life. Things have been spiraling down with constant conflict - blame, anger,
self-pity etc. This had caused immense suffering in his life. He was in a
fragile emotional-state, which made him break down repeatedly… He sounded
extremely, vulnerable… negative.
These are the
familiar moments in our lives… We all have gone through – and still go
through – these moments of darkness. For some of us, this ‘eclipse period’ may last
a shorter time, while for some of us, it may last a longer one. But, having
seen many more moons in my life than the young man had in his, I held his hand
and said to him gently: “Honey, no eclipse lasts… Trust, you will see the
light, soon.”
And, he did!
Since last
morning, the young man has been sounding buoyant… hopeful, and peaceful.
Obviously, the
young man stands not at the same place where he had found his problems… It is a
‘new place’ where he stands, now!
“River finds its
own way as long as it does not cease to flow with force,” I had messaged this
young man, last morning, “Keep flowing with force… Life.”
Today is a new
day, with a new sky – a new Sun and a new Moon, you see. In Life, no state is permanent…
especially, our problems, with all their pain and sorrows…
When eclipse
comes, let us not panic… It doesn’t come to stay in our lives forever… No way!
