WHEN NOTHING IS CERTAIN, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
“Trust the wait. Embrace the uncertainty.
Enjoy the beauty of becoming.
When nothing is certain, anything is possible.”
Mandy Hale
We do not have all the
answers. Do we?
Neither do we have a solution for every
problem of people around us, nor do we have a solution for every problem of our
own…
Others seek help from us, we seek
help from others…
When I need medical help, I approach
my doctors… When their young ones need help in studies or other developmental
issues, doctors approach me…
This is ‘world’… a place where I
need you for something, and you need me for something… We are all
inter-dependent, you see.
An old friend of mine –
who is in his late forties – called me up last evening. He is a family man… His
wife is a homemaker, and two kids are still in school… My friend has just lost
his job.
“Can I see you any time tomorrow?”
My friend asked.
We have agreed to meet in the
afternoon, today…
But, my friend knows, that I would
not be able to find him a new job. Knowing each other well, my friend,
certainly, is not looking for any financial help from me, either…
Still, we will be meeting, this
afternoon…
Let me tell you this: Just the way
this friend of mine wanted to meet me, so often, I had wanted to meet many of
my friends whenever I needed someone to ‘speak with’…
A kind ear to someone is what you
and I can best offer in their anxious times. We all know, when we call each other
for help, that all of us have our respective anxieties and uncertainties in
life… That, despite being in the troubled waters, our boats are still capable
of pulling a boat or two out of their troubles…
That’s what a doctor does to a
teacher like me, and that’s what a teacher like me does to a doctor… We all try
to pull a boat or two despite our own situation…
Tomorrow onwards, I will
be embarking upon our summer programme for this batch of young ones. For two
full months, I, along with many experienced trainers, will be fully involved in
this programme to offer help for these young ones…
The parents of these young ones need
our help… They expect us to pull these smaller boats from the disturbed waters…
They expect us to do it, knowing
well, that in Life, that’s the only way to help one another…
Help is help only when we are ready
to offer it while we need help for ourselves…
Will my friend find a
new job?
Why not? “When nothing is certain,
anything is possible,” reminds Mandy Hale…
