EVERYTHING YOU WANT ALSO WANTS YOU

“Thoughts become things.  If you see it in your mind,  you will hold it in your hand.” Bob Proctor A t the outset of Napoleon Hill’s ‘Think and Grow Rich’, there is this chapter called – ‘Thoughts are Things’. I was barely 20-plus and I was asking incessantly the question: “How do our dreams come true?”. As I have told a million times (not an exaggeration), this book provided me with the answer: “If I think clearly, whatever my mind is able to conceive and believe, I will be able to achieve it.” And, all that my young-self   wanted to achieve in my life was to teach, write and empower young kids… and, that’s in a setting I would create for myself. I remember, seeing that picture clyster-clearly in my mind… I was piercing, all consuming. And, all the while, I remember believing in it. Yes, my mind was able to conceive this simple dream and believe in it… The rest was the ancient ‘Law of Attraction’… All doubts and fears dissolved; all support appeared. As it...

“My feelings are too loud for words and too shy for the world.” Dejan Stojanovic   “D eep rivers run quiet.” Have you heard this statement? Well, let me tell you this: It’s not about rivers, it’s about many of us here on land – who are desperately shy… I was, I am and I will be one such deep river, always. Not because I want myself to be one… But, because, I have done everything humanly possible to overthrow this shyness from me… The more I have done that - like the cats my grandma wanted to do away with, in our village, while I was a little by – it has only come back… Perhaps, my shyness loves me more than I hate her! Jokes apart, shyness is something I had to struggle with as a young boy. As a young man, and as a 65-year-old, now – well, I still do; but, I am not bogged down by it, anymore… “Let the shyness be,” I now say, “It’s what makes me complete… beautiful” Our lack of understanding about our shyness can cause havoc inside and outside us. No matter ...

THE SINGAPORE STORY

Image
T wo summers ago, one afternoon, a lady called me up. “Sir, my name is Bageshree,” she said, “I want to enroll my son, Rutwik, for your PD course. He has just given his SSC Board exams.” Well, it was not just the son but also the mother who ended up being the students of THE  DAWN CLUB PD programme. Bageshree came about as an earnest learner… and, I could sense that unshakable faith she had in her talented son. She had brought him up as an all-rounder and she was determined to provide him a fine education abroad. Thus, immediately after our summer programme, she moved with her family to Singapore and enrolled her son for the right stream in a right institution… Bageshree and I remained friends through FB ever since. She has been a regular follower of my Blog and she never failed to give me her sincere appreciation… It always meant a lot to me… and, I would admit it to her as I always do with whoever gives me a word of appreciation when I hunger it the most. Latel...

HEY, IT IS BRAVE WHEN YOU KNOW YOU ARE AFRAID

Image
Pic.: Malabika Ganguly I had shared a very beautiful, and inspiring, video yesterday. A baby-bear, who is safe in his playful world, is, suddenly, terrified and on the run… A big panther is after him… The little-bear tries every possible way to escape from the clutches of the big-cat… and, finally, is cornered… There is no escape route now; the cruel paws come on the hapless baby-bear… and, lo! Something dramatic – unbelievable – happens: the panther panics all of a sudden… turns back, leaves the baby-bear alone… and goes his way… The mighty parent (dad or mom) has come to save the baby… “Dare you touch my baby,” the warning has been given, loaded with all the fire in the belly… The big-cat is scared to go any further, now… A relieved baby-bear runs towards the parent, and the parent comforts and heals the blood-soaked face of the little-one by licking and nursing! I t was past midnight. I had settled down to write something after, almost, a week… a...

A LONGING HEART IS A PRAYING HEART

Image
Pic.: Neerja Panchal T here are a hundred reasons why I admire and adore Mahatma Gandhi. Like the life of Jesus Christ, the life of Gandhi inspires me, empowers me. Heart is where God dwells. Both, Christ and Gandhi heavily emphasized on the power of love that comes from our hearts. Both taught: Love is   prayer in action!” Today is Gandhi Jayanti. I thought, I would write a short piece on something, that, at this moment, compels me to think of my Hero… and, I found one of his lines, which had, always, made a lot of sense to me: “Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.” When our  hearts long constantly… When we sincerely admit, and submit, our human weaknesses before God, that’s our real prayer. Yes, our hearts deeply long… deeply acknowledge their weaknesses… ...
