WHEN THE YOUNG ROMANTIC-LOVE GOES PUBLIC
I have not done any research on it… But, I am
sure, more than ninety percent of songs in all the countries and languages of
this world are about romantic Love. Yes, all happy, sad and insane songs are
written and sung based on romantic Love… either as a winner or a loser in it!
It means the feeling of romantic love is
universal!
The story of a boy and a girl falling in
love is a very, very old story about growing up in Life. It dates back to the
earliest days of civilized society. All of us have gone through this phase of ‘attraction’.
Some of us, who have been conservative and cautious, chose not to commit…while
some of us, who have been more open and bold, chose to commit.
So, whenever I see around me a young boy and
girl in love, I feel happy for them. Many of them are able to handle it
sensibly and many mess it up. Yes, it is not easy, at that age, to have a
smooth ride, all the way… The road is, often, bumpy… A lot of heat gets
generated along the way. It calls for attention, time, money and, above all a
strong heart and mind. With many young boys and girls, who don’t possess a
strong heart and mind, it takes away the focus from their studies and career
goals... Many get crushed under the constant silly arguments and fights… Many
face the wrath of their parents… and, in the end, it all adds only more mess in
their lives.
This Post is not to preach our young boys and
girls either on the merits or on the demerits of being in romantic love. I don’t
think they need advice on it… just as we did not need it when we were their
age. So, let the romantic love of our young boys and girls be… Let them have
their share of the growing-up experience… Let them make their own mistakes and
grow through them.
My reason for writing this Post is to tell our
young ones this: “If you are in love with your sweetheart, please keep it to
yourself; at best, share it with your nearest and dearest ones, who matter.
Please, don’t make a public display of it… Don’t trumpet about it… Don’t show
off… Don’t seek attention… Don’t tell
the world how head-over-heel you are about your sweetheart… Don’t be desperate
for Likes and ‘Made-for-each-other’ and ‘How-cute’ comments on social media
from those ‘friends’, who, in reality, care a damn whether you rejoice or
suffer in love.”
Yes, I have never advised any young one against
being in romantic relationship. But, I have advised many against the daily public-broadcast
they tend to indulge in on social media. “Remember, this is your private matter…
and treat it so with great respect and dignity.”
Yes, I have not done any research on it…
But, I can confidently say this: Those young ones, who have treated their romantic
relationship as a private matter with respect and dignity, have mostly
succeeded in their relationship. On the other hand, those young ones, who made
a silly public- display of their private matter, have, mostly, crashed… and rarely
dared to go head-over-heel in public, again!
No issues… That, too, is a growing-up experience,
you see. As the poet said, “All is fair in Love and War.”
