WELL, THE CHOICE IS VERY CLEAR
“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”
- Napoleon Bonaparte
I think, one of the most ‘toxic’ things that
we consume every night, before we go to bed, is the 9-p.m. News.
Obviously, ‘good new’ is no news, at all… It
doesn’t sell, you see. Only bad news – dark, gory, brutal, hate-filled one -
alone sells…
And, that’s something so sickening about
human psychology… We know the toxic news are not good for us when we go to bed.
Still, we crave for it… We willingly drink the poison!
There is so much good in this world. Yet,
many of us choose to ‘misuse’ and ‘mis-interpret’ the stories relating to rape,
corruption and other crimes. It’s funny – in fact, foxy – that, we misuse them
to suit our prejudiced religious, political or ideological leanings. Our
reactions to these rapes, scams and crimes clearly reveal who we are!
I repeat: there is so much good in this
world, there outside… It’s not rapes, loots and crimes all the way, everywhere.
As the old adage goes, a dog bites a man, and that is no ‘breaking news’. And,
one day, a man bites a dog… and, lo, that is the ‘breaking news’!
Our girls are safe… Our men are not
sex-cannibals. Just as all apples in the basket are not bad. It’s as plain as
that!
Whenever a brutal incident happens – be it a
rape case or a scam, the first thought that crosses my mind is: can I see this
as a pure case of rape or crime by a misguided person or a group of persons?
Can I separate religion and politics from the act of crime? Can I see it
totally free from my prejudice?
The same thing holds true about our
tormentors… There ‘are’ some tormentors in our lives – let’s call them our
‘enemies’, if we like. But, are we surrounded by only tormentors?
As I keep saying, always, for every
tormentor out there, there are nine good souls…
Life is as blessed as that… as beautiful!
About our tormentors: If they are driven by
a mission of tormenting others, they will go to any extent to make our lives
miserable. And, often, we do not have to do much to stop them. Because, in
their obsession to torment others, they invite their own doom… They get buried
in the ditches they dig for others… That’s why Napoleon Bonaparte famously
said:
“Never interrupt
your enemy when he is making a mistake.”
An obsessive tormentor is a sadist… One who
is unhappy and frustrated in life…
And, look at this man…
Well, the choice is very clear…
