A SMALL BOX OF SEEDS

“What you sow, you will reap.”

Jesus Christ

Every book, published by THE DAWN CLUB, carries inside it a bookmark. Most of these books have articles written by little kids, young ones and even adults. To me, there doesn’t appear any difference between the little kids and the adults. The young ones and adults, yes, they all come from the same seeds… If the seeds contain love, the society grows in love. On the other hand, if the seeds contain poison, it poisons the society…

So, the bookmark inside our every book has this old saying:

“You can count the seeds in an apple;

but, you cannot count the apples in a seed.”

How true!

If you and I, the so-called adults, are here today, it’s because of the seeds sown in us, years ago. If you and I are spreading love today, it’s because of the seeds of love and kindness sown in us, years ago. On the other hand, if you and I are spreading hatred and enmity, we need to examine the seeds sown in us, years ago…

A friend of mine shared this beautiful story, this morning…

THE SEEDS

A merchant from Baghdad entered a Sufi shop, that had essence jars on the shelves. Marveling at the beauty of the place, he asked the Sufi, “Sir, what is sold here?”

The Sufi replied, “The Gifts of God.”

The merchant was surprised with the answer and asked, “And how much do they cost?”

“Nothing; here, all is for free,” said the Sufi, observing carefully, that the traveler could see the labels: ‘Jugs of love’, ‘Jars of faith’, ‘Package of hope.’

The merchant said, “A big jug of love, all the packages of hope and three jars of faith for me, my friends and my family.”

The Sufi carefully prepared the order and handed the merchant a small box.

Surprised, the merchant exclaimed, “But, but…how can everything I have asked for, be in this tiny box?”

Smiling, the Sufi replied, “In God’s store, we do not sell fruits, only seeds. You have to sow them.”

What we sow, we shall reap.
