AN EASY WAY TO BUILD OUR SELF-CONFIDENCE

“There are two seas in Palestine; there are two kinds of people in this world.” Bruce Barton   I t’s not possible to pause, after every step, after every breath, and say ‘Thank You Lord’. But, it’s possible to do it, sometimes… may be, after every day or week or month or year. Well, the frequency and the duration shouldn’t matter… the surge of gratitude in our bosoms should. If that doesn’t happen, we are simply some hard, heartless stones! A parent of one of my students became my FB friend, today. We all have a reason why we are on social platforms like FB or Instagram. My reason is, that I want to share my daily blogs through FB. Now, whether my FB friends read it or not, I keep writing and keep sharing. Many of them, I am sure, read them. Now and then, when some of them like, comment or share, yes, I feel happy, satisfied and motivated to keep writing. So, whenever a new friend gets connected on FB, I make it a point to draw his/her attention to the Blogs I wr...

DEAR, YOU WILL SHINE

“There are no traffic jams  when you go the extra mile.” Zig Ziglar T he thought that I should know everything, I should be good at everything… I should have an answer for every problem – yes, this kind of thought can be extremely overwhelming and stressful. It comes from the misconceived and ill-advised pursuit of ‘perfection’. No Sir, we needn’t know everything in life… We needn’t have an answer for every problem under the Sun… We are living people – full of imperfections. We make lots and lots of mistakes as we walk into our unfamiliar territories in life… As long as we live, we shall live with our imperfections… and, that is not only perfectly fine, that’s also something so beautiful about living, and growing. A week ago, I was approached by a young Assistant Professor of a reputed college of Architecture in Mumbai. This young gentleman’s name was Pulkit, and he told me that the college Principal had asked him to approach me for an online motivational ...

THE SINGAPORE STORY

Image
T wo summers ago, one afternoon, a lady called me up. “Sir, my name is Bageshree,” she said, “I want to enroll my son, Rutwik, for your PD course. He has just given his SSC Board exams.” Well, it was not just the son but also the mother who ended up being the students of THE  DAWN CLUB PD programme. Bageshree came about as an earnest learner… and, I could sense that unshakable faith she had in her talented son. She had brought him up as an all-rounder and she was determined to provide him a fine education abroad. Thus, immediately after our summer programme, she moved with her family to Singapore and enrolled her son for the right stream in a right institution… Bageshree and I remained friends through FB ever since. She has been a regular follower of my Blog and she never failed to give me her sincere appreciation… It always meant a lot to me… and, I would admit it to her as I always do with whoever gives me a word of appreciation when I hunger it the most. Latel...

THREE LEGS OF THE STOOL CALLED SELF-CONFIDENCE

Pic.: Anima D'Cunha O n 12 th June, 2016, The Dawn Club Centre of Excellence had published its latest book – ‘WHAT MAKES ME CONFIDENT’. I wish to share with you, in today’s blog, the ‘Afterword’ I had written for this book… S everal years ago, I found a small book by the title - ‘Changes’. It was a book written for adolescents and it carried guest articles from some of American icons. All of them had shared in this book their stories – how they became confident and successful in life. What I loved the most about this book was the simple imagery used by the author (Mysteriously, I don’t remember the author’s name… and, I have failed to get it from every source I have tried) to explain to little-ones how to be self-confident in life. I loved the imagery so much, that, over all these years, I have shared it with my own students – both, little-ones and young-ones. Here is the imagery… “Self-confidence is like a stool with three legs,” the author tells in the ...

CONFIDENCE IS ALL ABOUT THE ACTIONS YOU TAKE NOT THE POSTURES YOU STRIKE

Pic.: Nisha Patel CONFIDENCE IS ALL ABOUT THE ACTIONS YOU TAKE NOT THE POSTURES YOU STRIKE - Sandeep Jayaswal (Articulate professional/Travel and sports enthusiast/Mentor) B elief in self… the trust in my abilities, that I am capable of doing something, is confidence to me. As a topping, knowledge, being positive, preparedness, favorite dress, power, trust and success adds to my confidence in whatever I do. I would like to share my experiences at various junctures of my life depicting the reasons for my confidence. SPEAKING YOUR MIND When I was young, the most perplexing question was: “Why do I get frightened asking a question to my teacher while a few others don’t?” I got frightened, because, I did not want people looking at me. And I just didn't want to bring too much attention on myself. Was it lack of confidence? For years, I observed, that, questions asked by others were not always wise. That was when I realized, that speaking yo...
