AN INCOMPLETE EMAIL

A friend of mine, who is a consultant in one of the organizations in Mumbai, narrated to me this interesting episode… Some days ago, we got the notification in our office complex (A twenty-one storey office complex), that the server would be down for an hour. The employees, so dependent on their computers, suddenly felt clueless as to what was to be done when they could not use their computers for an hour! They were waiting for instructions from me. Meanwhile, a young employee came over to me and said, ‘Sir, we would like to listen to some motivational things from you.’ A couple of her associates seconded their friend’s proposal. I spontaneously proposed to them something different… ‘We are on the eleventh floor here,’ I said, ‘Any of you has come up here or go down from here using the staircase?’ There was none. So, I suggested, that we walked down the stairs and discover what was there on each floor… They loved the idea. By the time we all landed on the...

WHO TAUGHT LITTLE BABIES TO LAUGH AND CRY?

“If the cherry trees had to wait for understanding, they'd never blossom.”  ―  Marty Rubin I will never advise anyone to lead a hippy-kind-of life:  Live carefree… Do whatever you like… Go wherever you wish to… Wear whatever you want to… Eat, sleep and love in whatever way you wish to. Caution and planning are good. Carefree-ness and spontaneity, too, are good. When we combine both of them in our life, life can be less stressful… more productive and happy. To help us worry less abou...

ONLY OUR HEARTS KNOW THE REASONS

We need to express our gratitude to people in our lives… and we need to do it spontaneously, most sincerely… and, without any fuss around it. The reasons to say a ‘Thank you’ can be very personal… Only our hearts know them. CPT results are out, today. Anmol, a very confident and bright girl, somehow, couldn't clear it in her last attempt. Maths used to be her Achilles’ heel. So, referred by a dear friend of mine, she approached me for June attempt. She just sent me a very spontaneous word of gratitude, “Sir, I have cleared CPT…. Thank you for everything.” What’s so great about it? Well, Anmol’s heart can tell you that… And, tear my heart to know what it wants to tell! Just an hour before that, Anurag, a friend of mine, who runs his family business, called me. He wanted to thank me for sending Deepa, a very deserving, financially-deprived, fresh graduate to work in their firm. “Sir, she is really brilliant, hardworking a...
