'TO BE ONCE AGAIN ORIGINAL, LIVE FREE'
Are we ‘originals’, or
are we ‘duplicates’?
One of the reasons,
why we do not ‘express’ ourselves fully – and by ‘express’ I mean, in fullness…
through our talents, skills, strengths and uniqueness and, yes, through our
speech, too – is that we do not know who we really are… how good, how special
and how valuable. And, because we have no idea about our own worth… we do not
operate from our core – the source of our strength… we only operate from the
shallow surface…
Fear dissolves when
we get hold of our inner source, the core… the depth of our specialness. Once,
we begin to operate from our core, there is no stopping… the talents, skills, strengths
will simply blossom, just the way everything else under the God’s sky does… from
there, we express ourselves fully, fearlessly… just the way every original
creation of God does under His sky…
God hasn’t created
us in a factory mass-production line… He has created each one of us individually…
separately… and incredibly in a unique fashion… We aren’t duplicates here on
this earth… we are not sent here stuffed with mediocre gifts… None of us here
is a foster child of God… we are His own…
So, what happened
to us along the way? Why did we begin to fear, hold ourselves back from
expressing fully before the world? Why did we allow ourselves to show up as ‘duplicates’?
Dhruv was on stage to
speak, last morning. I do not pre-plan
on offering our young-ones the topics to speak on… To me, the topics come from
the ‘thin air’… spontaneously… I pick the cue from what is ‘live’ and what is ‘true’
at that moment. So, Dhruv, an intelligent and well-groomed boy, had it on his
funky T-shirt:
‘TO BE
ONCE AGAIN ORINGAL,
LIVE FREE’
“Speak,” I said, “that’s
your topic.”
Yes, it is difficult
to collect your thoughts and make sense out of what you say on stage the way I
was expecting a 17-year old to do. Dhruv wasn’t rattled… He picked the gauntlet
and went about speaking what he thought was right…
“That is it,” I
declared, “Get in touch with your thoughts… Trust your thoughts… Express your
thoughts.”
Like many around
him, Dhruv – an exceptionally bright boy – has lots of ‘loose ends’ while
speaking. Loose ends come from hesitation, self-doubt… when there is a
disconnect with your core… the deepest source… your originality. And, to reach
your core, the only way available is to take a risk and plunge…
All our talents
blossom only in that manner… when we allow them to blossom fully… fearlessly…
All our thoughts
and ideas, too, blossom on this stage called ‘Life’ only in that manner… when
we allow them to be expressed fully… fearlessly…
Yes, ‘To be once
again original, live free’… The writing on the T-shirt says it loudly, clearly and from the heart.
