TWENTY-TWENTY

“Every sunset is an opportunity to reset.
Every sunrise begins with new eyes.”

― Richie Norton

Twenty-twenty! Will it be fast and furious, young and colourful, good, bad and ugly like the T20 of the cricket world?

Just a couple of days ago, Amitabh Bachchan had tweeted, in a lighter vein, that we needed not to worry as there was only an ‘unnees-bees ka farak’  between 2019 and 2020!

Now, the ‘unnees’ is behind us, and the ‘bees’ is ahead… Will it be any different?

Jab jaago, tab savera! It’s morning when you wake up… When our eyes are new, the sunrise, too, appears new and glorious!

Life is never static to any one of us… It can’t be. Life is constantly moving… Yes, it’s in a constant flux. What come on our way, as our good times and bad times, are only life-situations… They come and they go… just as the day and the night do.

So, whether it is the unnees or the bees, the difference between the two calendar years cannot be the difference in our outlook towards life.

Time and tide wait for none. Therefore, our efforts to be good human beings – simple, loving and accommodating – should be on. Others may not be good to us... They may be even plotting against us. But, then, that should not ruin our goodness. Let them do their ‘karma’ and let’s do our ‘dharma’… That, in my view, is the meaning of ‘being good’…

Let not others’ actions distract us from our course. If we stay faithful to our own course, no one can rob us of our goodness.

Yes, there will be tough times. But, the Sun will come up tomorrow. There is a great comfort in that truth… That, no matter how dark the night is, the light does come when the Sun comes up… That’s the hope and promise of Life. Yes, Life is dynamic… ever-changing… just like the T20.

So, let’s embrace the New Year with optimism and a great heart… Let’s live and love, making twenty-twenty a great experience.
