HUNTING FOR AN EAGLE EGG ON EASTER
“If
people in your circle aren’t contributing
to
your growth, then, you’re not in a circle…
you’re
in a cage.”

Growing
up in my native village, we kids do not remember having heard of the Easter
Eggs and the Easter Bunny. All that we heard was of the real eggs our hens laid
and the real bunny who lived a little away in the jungle! So, as the standard
of living – or shall I call it, lifestyle? – improved, came along the idea of
colourful Easter Eggs and Bunny into our lives…
The Risen Lord,
Jesus Christ, alone knows how funny these Easter Bunny, Eggs and Buns are!
Anyway, if hunting
for these Eggs, Bunny and Buns on an Easter morning can make children and adults
happy, I think, the Lord, also, would be happy… Why be so serious about life?
After all, Easter is all about hope and renewal… Isn’t it?
Coming
Tuesday morning, we will be commencing our summer programme on Personality Development
for young kids. Lord, also, knows, that every kid is born special and it is for
the kid to discover who he or she really is… The true potential of every kid is
hidden within… The kid has to unearth it… Just the way he or she goes about
hunting for the pretty Eggs on an Easter morning. Thus, what can these young
kids expect in our sessions? Will their personality going to really develop as
the programme name suggests?
Just as how Easter
Eggs only keep exciting the kids, our sessions, too, only keep exciting them… The
hunt, in truth, is about finding who they really are… and, what they are truly
capable of…
This story will
be told to them…
THE
CHICKEN AND THE EAGLE
One day, on his way to the farm, a farmer found an abandoned eagle's nest. He saw in it an egg still warm. He took the egg to his farm and laid it in the nest of one of his hens. Soon, the egg hatched and the baby eagle began to grow up along with other chicks. All through the day, just as little chickens around it did, the little eagle pecked about the farmyard, scrabbling for grain. This way, it spent its whole life within the yard... never, even for once, looking up unto the skies!
Then, one day, when it was very old, the Eagle lifted up its head and saw high up in the skies a breath-taking sight... A mighty bird was soaring with great power and grace, up there!
“Who is he?” the
old-and-tired eagle – who did not know who really he was – asked the elderly
hen.
“He is Eagle,” explained the wise-old hen, “the king of all birds, the one who rules the skies.”
“I wish I were born
like him,” said the eagle, “I wish I could soar like an eagle!”
The legend has it, that the wise-old hen, that day, had yelled, angrily: “Brother, you ‘are’ an Eagle, and you ‘are’ born to soar... Go, fly!”
A Happy Easter to all…
A happy hunting to all ‘kids’, too!
