WE NEED TO SKETCH OUR DREAMS...

I am a die-hard believer in the Law of Attraction:
“In life, what we deeply admire, we attract!”

I have seen this Law manifesting in my own life: I admired my teacher, Prof. B.S Raman, so much – all days and all nights and all over my years – that I ended up becoming one. I was so impressed and influenced by the philosophy of Napoleon Hill (his book Think & Grow Rich, particularly) that I ended up starting THE DAWN CLUB to influence and empower others who needed help like me! I so deeply admire Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. Abraham Lincoln, Mother Teresa, Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Sudha Murthy and several other heroes in my life, that I am aware of the fact that they are silently, continuously, and surely shaping up my life!

This morning, in one of my batches, I was talking to my students about the sensational singer, little Charice. I had just seen some videos of this girl and, like millions of her other admirers, I, too, was blown away, totally! What an amazing talent… What a brilliant performer… What a miracle!

I had loved, in particular, the video in which three of my idols – Oprah Winfrey, Celine Dion and David Foster – all come together to present this little sensation, Charice… I was, literally, frozen with awe: “How could she sing and perform so well, at such a tender age!”

Charice grew up in Philippines. She was brought up by her single mother, who was a small-time singer… As a little girl of four, Charice loved to sing the popular songs of her favorite singers’- Whitney Houston, Beyonce and Celine Dion. She, particularly, loved to become like Celine Dion… so much so, she drew sketches, in which she imagined singing along with her idol. All day long, little Charice would stand on her table-top and sing like her idol… She would take her dream to the bed each night and rise with it each morning… And, it did not take her too long to see her dream come true!

Charice, soon, sang not only along with Celine Dion, but also with Whitney Houston and Beyonce, too!

When I watched the video of the Oprah show, I couldn’t hold back my tears! And, this morning, in the class, I shared my goose-bumps experience with my young students... “Please watch it, today,” I urged them, “You need it… We all need it… We need to sketch our dreams!”

So, here I am, now… urging you all to do the same: “Please watch it.”

For, in life, what you deeply, deeply admire, you do attract…

You become the hero you worship!
