THERE IS A TIME TO DO NOTHING TO SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS

“Sometimes, doing nothing about the problem can be the best solution to the problem,” explained a friend of mine to me, this morning. We were discussing about a certain problem in hand that had affected some of us, including we two.  For years, the said problem was troubling us… We had done every possible thing to solve it… But, people on the other side of the problem seemed blinded by their ego and were unwilling to drop the hard stance they had taken… Despite our best efforts and intentions, the problem seemed to persist…

It was frustrating!

So, this morning, my friend tried to calm me down by saying, that there was nothing that we hadn’t done to solve the problem… So, the best thing in such situations is to ‘let go’… and ‘let God in’…

“God, I am just a human… I have done all that a human could do to solve this problem… I surrender all… I lay the problem at Thy feet and Thy will be done.”

Many do not like to take this kind of approach. “It is being weak,” they argue, “It’s a defeatist mindset.”

I have thought a lot on this issue. When problems stand before us, we simply cannot ignore… We don’t try to leave them to God as soon as they stand before us. Yes, we try our best, using all available methods, to solve our problems… It is when the problems do not cease, and frustrations and disappointments do not cease to end, that we should slow down… and stop assuming that we are in control… The moment we realize, that we are not in control and we need some divine intervention, the letting go process gets into motion… We give the reins in the hands of a Higher Power, and, let the solution emerge on its own…

“Man ka ho toh achha… Na ho toh aur achha.” This was the advice late Harivansh rai Bachchan had given to his illustrious son, Amitabh Bachchan… If the particular situation in our life is of our liking, it is good. And, if the situation is not of our liking, it is even better… For, God must be having a plan behind it… And, God, being our loving Father, will only mean the best for us.

Thus, here I am today… Just doing nothing about the particular problem in hand… I and my friends have done everything in our hands, for so many years, to be free from this problem. No, it’s not happening… As my friend had advised, this is the time to let go… Do nothing to solve the problem… and Let God do what is best for us…

He does!
