FOR EVERY POISONOUS SOUL, THERE ARE NINE VIRTUOUS OUT THERE









One of the things I keep reinforcing in my mind and heart both is: this world has more good than bad. For every poisonous soul, there are nine virtuous out there. Despite our sinful nature, we are more aligned to God than to Satan…

We all have the capability of committing big crimes – murder, loot and rape… yes, we all do. But, nine out of ten don’t fall to this level…. We don’t commit such crimes…

Our personal values, social values, religious values, universal values… Yes, most of us are conscious of them… we are guided and saved by them…

One out of ten – that one is one of us – falls. Fails… kills, roots and rapes.

It has nothing to do with our religion. For, no religion encourages it... It’s simply a fall from Grace!

Saudi Arabia, perhaps, has the most stringent punishment for committing crimes… I understand, they cut your hand and pluck your eyes if you kill, loot and rape... They hang you publicly. That’s the kind of punishment most of us cry for whenever an innocent soul is gang-raped in cold blood or such other crime… Saudi Arabia has been meting out such punishment. But, is Saudi a paradise on earth?

America to Africa, Antarctica to Andaman, rapists, looters, murderers – they are all there everywhere. They have no religion and they have no God. They have fallen from Grace, that’s all…

And, this: They come from our own families – a family called mankind. One out of ten will be a hardcore… If you and I haven’t yet turned a hardcore, we are only saved by Grace of God… It only means, that we have consciously chosen to be more aligned to God and goodness than to Satan and viciousness…


To me, the everyday challenge is to remind myself, that this world has more good than bad, more number of good people than bad… That, crimes and tragedies do not outweigh this amazing miracle called Life… That, I must leave home, every morning, tucking more trust in my bosoms… The world outside is not dangerous, despite the occasional gory incidents… That, this life has lasted too long to be destroyed by a tragedy here and a tragedy there…

Yes, I believe, this trust in God’s mercy and goodness is the best shield we all can ever wear when we leave our homes, every morning… It is, also, the best gift we can ever give to our children…

If I have been saved, despite possessing the seed in my heart which is capable of doing what a heartless criminal does, then, I can only say this: I have not yet fallen from Grace…

And, I feel blessed and not disowned!

Yes, Gerry. Well said. Nowadays, I hate turning on the News channel, since every channel has a similar story to tell. It's really disturbing to start a day with such news. But finally, as you mentioned, the place we live is really not that bad to live. Though, we move 'ON', every one internally feels that the guilty should be punished and punished at the earliest.
