HAVE A GREAT DAY

But, night was very disturbing… Anxiety and sadness had hovered over my heart, and I was sleepless late into the night.

Yes, you should never go to bed with bitter arguments, with any one. Yes, with any one. I had broken this rule and I was paying for it with my deprived sleep!

But then, when I rose this morning, the first thing I did was:

“Lord, help me remain calm… Help me see the brightness through the day.”

This came to me just naturally…

Which meant:

I was yearning for peace…

I was yearning for a ‘coming home’!

At 7 in the morning, I received my first message on the cellphone.

“Good morning sir. Just a reminder:
Paper distribution on Friday at 10.
 Have a great day!”

A week ago, I had asked my students to remind me of the paper-distribution before Friday… and, here was Maanvi, my student, doing it with her smiley… That was the first message this morning… A happy one.

I instantly sent my reply:

“Thank you Maanvi…
It was so kind of you…
Have a great day,too.”

I felt good with that!

As I stepped out of our gate, Akshay, one of my dear friends’ son, was struggling to get an auto. He was getting late for his college (Second-year Engg) and I was more than happy to give him a lift. When, he got off the auto, he was profusely thankful. “Thank you so much sir… Have a nice day!”

“You too, beta,” I patted Akshay’s back.

I felt good with that!

When I was getting off the auto near my classes, Mona, who has just started working after completing her MSW, exclaimed, “Thank you sir for bringing me an auto… I was struggling to get one for ten minutes… I am late. Thank you.”

“Beautiful dress, Mona,” I complimented. Mona was wearing something exceptionally graceful!

“Thank you sir,” Mona jumped with delight, “Have a great day.”

“You too, Mona,” I wished as the auto drove her fast, and away.

I felt good with that too!

It is past mid-noon, now… I am feeling very, very calm…
God has helped me to be peaceful… to see the brightness through the day!
When night comes, I will not carry bitterness to my bed…
Three young souls have wished me for a great day…
And, I have wished them, too!

Lovely message sir, I too had the same feelings when i slept in the night...but unforunately i am still restless...i need the strength to be calm..i am not able to comprehend it ..i feel as if i am falling to some bigger prey...when we have arguments..dont we have a right to support our feelings...yes i agree this just brings frustrations, anger nothing else...at the cost of ones self respect....peace is eternal..everlasting...i need serenity...please pass me one...

Sonal, by being honest about your struggle, you must have felt a lot relieved. The key is in your ability to 'see' as it is!

I will pass on my peace to you, sure... and what is this 'peace'?

Certainly not the absence of turmoil, I hope. It is your ability to 'see' the turmoil without throwing any defences.

Love life, it is great!!

Thanks Sonal,

Love,

I would say one thing that is our choice to be calm or to have anxiety and sadness. Whatever happen cannot be changed. We should keep one thing in our mind that whenever we are happy, upset, angry, lonely, sad that "THIS MOMENT IS NOT PERMANENT IN LIFE"
Gerald D'Cunha said…
I agree with u Girish... we have to keep saying, every time..."This too is going to pass."

It does. It will!

No problem in life is capable of affecting our smile till we ourself allow it to affect us ! Lifes not about seeing happiness ...... It's about seeking our motives , goals and fighting to achieve it ! Happiness will come hand in hand with it !

Hi Friend, I really liked the way you have expressed ur idea about happiness so well in ur comment. Yes, the old saying does remind us always: "Happiness comes not at the end of the road... but along our way."

Keep helping me with your insights.

Thanks,

GERRY
