'BY FAILING TO PREPARE, YOU ARE PREPARING TO FAIL."

It was the last PD session, today, for our little-ones. They had
a party… rather, a blast! Each one of them came on stage to tell us what they
had learnt in two weeks. Almost all of them articulated it clearly and
confidently. “We will come here next year, too,” they were unanimous on this…
In the end, I said to the little-ones,
“Sweethearts, I want to give you my parting message; are you ready to listen?”
“YESSSS!”
“A fish has to swim, a bird has to
fly, and a peacock has to dance… Similarly, a singer has to sing, a dancer has
to dance, a painter has to paint and a writer has to write, ” I told my
little-friends, “They won’t be happy in life, otherwise… Do you agree with me?”
“YESSSS!”
“So, discover – find out – when you
are very small – what is that you want to do in life… sing, dance, paint,
write, teach whatever… You are little kids now… But, if you start thinking about
it now, you will soon find out what is that you want to do in life… what you
want to become… You will be happy in life when you do what you love. All of you
want to be happy? Don’t you?”
“YESSSS!”
“So, from today, you seriously think about it…
Discover what is that God wants you to become… Find out what makes you the
happiest.”
There was Mr. Ghosh, the father of
12-year-old Akshat. I requested him to give to our little-ones his own parting advice…
“My little friends, I want to continue
from where Gerry sir had ended,” Mr. Ghosh said. “My parting advice would be
the one given by a great person named, Benjamin Franklin. He had advised, ‘By
failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.’ So, if you want to become
someone in life – a singer, painter, writer, dancer whatever, start your preparations
‘now’, right now! The more you prepare, the closer you come to your goal – your
success. On the other hand, by failing to prepare, you are, indeed, preparing
to fail… Do you understand?”
“YESSSS!”
“Catch them young,” it is said…
Hope, that’s what we are doing, with our little-ones, here…
