BROTHER, DON'T CHANGE

“Follow your inner moonlight;

don’t hide the madness.”

Allen Ginsberg

Quickly commenting on one of my recently-shared pictures, one of my cousin sisters wrote:

“You’re my sweet Dattu* dear. You be like this only… Don’t try to change.”

I was equally quick in my response:

“You see, the crow, won’t change into a bright-white dove, even if you wash him with the best detergent. So, my darling sister, this crow has decided not to change at all.”

REFLECTION:

Whenever I feel tired of chasing success and happiness, I hear the crow crying, sitting on our window – ‘Ka… Ka… Ka’.

My friend brings home the message:  Discover the beauty, power and joy of your own being!

*Dattu’ means an elder brother in my mother tongue, Konkani.
