HOW TO LIGHT A STADIUM
Prem Rawat is a
spiritual teacher of different kind. I
watch his videos… in which he addresses audiences both in our rustic villages
and in the sophisticated venues of the UN or Oxford or some luxurious hotels. He speaks
with equal ease, charm, clarity and power to illiterate and highly-learned… the
wretched and the super-rich.
Prem Rawat is an orator, par-excellence. And, I watch his videos
for that.
But, sometimes, I get a feeling that Prem Rawat keeps
repeating the same thing, keeps giving the same message, keeps giving the same
hope… and, yes, keeps giving the same solution for all the troubles in our
world!
“Peace in this world is possible,” he affirms so
confidently, almost like an innocent, exited child whose heroes are the
paper-kites flying in the sky, and the Spiderman and Batman who can do what we
all can’t. So, like this little child, who thinks he too can fly, defeat the
Bad men… and save the world, Prem Rawat, sounds to me very much like an
innocent, excited and yes, extremely confident child.
I love that!
To change this chaotic world,
you need to be like a child,
very, very innocent…
unpolluted, least conditioned
by the harsh realities and
experiences.
Child dreams…
Child flies…
Child forgets…
Child cries…
Child smiles, laughs, jumps, hugs, kisses… and, sleeps well.
“Peace in this word is possible, because, peace in me, you
and him – the individual – is possible,” Prem Rawat reminds every one, everywhere. "And, I am not talking here about the peace in the absence of wars... I am speaking about peace in the midst of wars!" he drops the bomb!
In one of the videos I was watching, he was addressing a mammoth audience in a
city in India …
and, it was a sports stadium.
“How do we usher peace in the world?” Prem Rawat throws the
question before the glued crowd…. There is profound seriousness; there is the usual
silence…
The question is huge, too complicated… an impossible
proposition!
The Maestro, known for his magical pauses, holds back his answer.
Then, his face turns, the hand goes up and the finger points to one of the floodlights
posts. “Just the way we light this gigantic stadium,” he explains. There is
that familiar smile on his face, the innocence and the silent confidence .He
goes on, “Each of those bulbs has to light up… one by one, all will have to go
up… And, behold! The whole stadium is lit up!”
And, yes, the whole stadium erupts with joy on hearing this ‘great
good-news’!
I really love the way
this exceptionally gifted Master – an outstanding orator – makes his listeners believe
in their power to change the world.
All that they have to do is: Be the change… they seek
outside!
Wow! How simple!
I love that smile, that innocence… that steely power of this
man. Prem Rawat.
