HAPPINESS, ALWAYS, SNEAKS IN THROUGH THE BACK-DOOR

Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open.

- John Barrymor

There is this widely-popular English-expression – ‘Pursuit of Happiness’. Its popularity comes from the plain fact that, in life, we all are in a constant search – a look out – for happiness. And, because happiness constantly eludes us, fools us, frustrates us – this pursuit shall ever remain just that – a pursuit!

Though happiness is precisely what we all are working for, planning for, saving for, praying for… yes, though happiness is the ultimate objective behind our every thought and action, to achieve it – to find it – we precisely need to do just the opposite: stop looking for it through the main-doors of our hearts…

Hello, your happiness has already sneaked it through the back-door…

And, yes, you did not know you had left the back-door open…

You did not know happiness would come in so quietly, without any fanfare or hype…

Your long wait at the main-door, with a golden garland in hands, has gone in vain…

Hey, happiness is in… Rejoice!

Jiddu Krishnamurti says:

“Happiness is strange; it comes when you are not seeking it. When you are not making an effort to be happy, then unexpectedly, mysteriously, happiness is there, born of purity, of a loveliness of being.”

What does Jiddu Krishnamurti mean by ‘a loveliness of being’?

I, seriously think, he wants us to return to our pure and simple nature of being ‘human-beings’… from we have strayed into in life - ‘human doings’!

Yes, happiness is pure and simple… It is too shy to walk in through our main-doors… It is weary of our golden garlands…

And, is such a ‘loveliness of being’ so amazing?
