LOVE ME, LOVE MY DOG, TOO... LOVE MY HOUSE, LOVE THE CROW, TOO.

There is a Chinese saying: “If you love my house, love the crow, too.”

In English, the saying goes: “If you love me, love my dog, too.”

Alice in the Wonderland is so cute... But, she comes with her sisters, you see... So, Alice tells us: “If you love me, love my sisters, too!”

Can I continue?

If you love your wife, love her mother, too... Her cribbing and nagging as well...

If you love your husband, love his shoddiness, too, his snoring, too... his useless friends, as well...

If you love your school, love the assembly too... the labs, the library, the punishments, the homework, the unreasonable teachers, too...

If you love your teacher, love her bias, too... her long nose as well...

If you love your students, love their mischief, too... their innocence and ignorance, their laziness and indifference... their curiosity and gossip, as well...

If you love your nation, love its politicians, too... the bumpy streets and the dirty toilets, the hutments, the street-children, the stench of the pitch-black nallas as well...

If you love your religion, love the long sermons, too... the boring rituals and the meaningless mantras as well...

If you love your baby, love his nappies too...

The socks of your young-son, he has thrown all over the floor... They are stinking. Or, is the stink coming only from inside your mind?  By the way, what are you mad at? Him? His socks? Or, your own self?

When you first courted your girl, her Pug was ‘so cute’... You cuddled the puppy as much as you cuddled her. And, now, what happened? Why are you mad at the poor dog?

Hey, when he first kissed you, you only soaked in his scent. “Real man!” you whispered hiding on his chest. And, now? Where were the bad breath and body odor all along your head-over-heels days?

“It’s alright, my love, it is okay.” Why is it not alright and not okay, now?

There were days, you longed to share the music he loved... The ear-phones were equally shared, on one end, he and on the other end, you... and, it was all heavenly, so magical... Wasn't it? Now, I hear you scream tearing your lungs -‘Stop it! Damn it!” What happened, my friend? Are you mad at his music or at the music in your own head?

Well, just asking... Just thinking aloud...

The Chinese saying or the English saying... Alice of the Wonderland or Gerry of our own land... yes, they are all same... The story and the moral are the same:

When she comes into your life, she brings along your would-be mother-in-law, too...

When he comes, he brings along your would-be bad-breath, body-stink and, yes, those lousy friends, as well...

Therefore, my dear friends, if you love me, love my dog, too...

If you love my house, love the crow, too.

And, you know, how much I love you... for that!!!
