CONFIDENCE IS THE FIRE INSIDE YOUR BELLY

- Prasad Uchil  (Age 15)

Confidence is what makes people able to express themselves without having to refer to any piece of paper. It is the force that drives you from within. It is the fire inside your belly that motivates you to achieve greatness and keeps you going. It is the feeling of fire, greatness and exuberance combined along with a whole lot of self-confidence that makes great people who they are.

Confidence is reflected everywhere and every time you tread farther than your reach. One can reflect his/her confidence while rocking crocs with a suit. One can portray confidence when he/she stands tall addressing people present in front of him/ her. Confidence is what makes people take risks and become entrepreneurs in life and mere seekers of infinity leading them to achieve endeavors in life and turn into great men and set the ideals in the future generations.

You don't need chances to make something large; but, you can turn every moment of your life large just by having enough confidence.

Confidence... It doesn't develop overnight; but, is a result of a lifetime's various moments and how one faces them compiled altogether. It may extend to as far as your playschool days when you were asked to recite for an elocution right up to when you are 80 and continue to do things (enjoying life) which people of that age don't even imagine of.

Friends, I would like to conclude, that I may not be able to give a definition for confidence appropriately; it doesn't require one. All that I want to tell you is this: From this day onwards, inhale confidence and exhale doubt from your body and mind.

I FEEL CONFIDENT WHEN I GET INSPIRED

Karminder Kaur Dhanjal (Age 16)

Confidence is something that we build up within.
It is just handling our fear.

For me, when I see other great speakers, I feel confident to speak.

When I see my parents working and supporting me, I feel confident.

I feel confident when I am done with the work completely
and have faith, hope and believe in myself.

I even feel confident when I am happy.

I feel confident when I get inspired…
when I aspire to become someone in my life.

I feel confident when I hear encouraging and motivational words,
quotes or even speeches.

I feel confident when my friends or my family members appreciate me
for my drawings and cartoon  and I feel like doing some more,
and, also, when I complete the task that I am not capable of
.
So my dear friends, these some are the things
that make me feel confident.

WHEN I SEE HANDICAPPED PEOPLE WORKING,
I FEEL CONFIDENT

- Akanksha Sharma (Age 15)

Confidence is something that a person should have in himself.
If a person lacks confidence,
then, he will not be able to achieve his goals in his life.

My family is the pillar of my confidence.
They are always there by my side.
I feel confident when people encourage me, motivate me
to do things which I feel I'm not capable enough to do.
When I feel low, I read inspirational books and quotes
due to which my confidence level increases.

When I see handicapped people working, I feel confident.
Because, it makes me think: “If they can do it, then, why can't I?
Am I not blessed with a body that can function properly?”

I conclude, here, by saying,
that confidence makes a man believe in himself.
One should have confidence in himself… not over-confidence.
Confidence leads a man to success
while over-confidence leads him to failure.

CONFIDENCE MAKES THE FIRE OF DESIRE
IN OUR HEARTS BIGGER AND POWERFUL

- Tejbir Singh (Age 11)

Confidence is a feeling inside us that propels us to do
all what we desire in the best possible way.
It makes the fire of desire in our hearts bigger and powerful.

If we lack confidence in doing something,
we may fail in it or not even try it.

Some things which make me confident are:
Practicing the thing in which I lack confidence…
Discussing the things with my parents…
And, reading inspirational story books.

(P.S.: These are the impromptu speeches made by our on-going PD-course students on the topic: ‘WHAT MAKES ME CONFIDENT’. I shall be sharing them here on my blog for some days, and they will be published in a book by the same title on 12th June, 2016, the day of the certification.)
