THEY CHOOSE TO SAY 'TRY ME' INSTEAD OF 'WHY ME?'
SEEING THE
UNDERDOG PERFORM IN LIFE
IS WHAT MAKES
ME CONFIDENT
-Vishal
Daryani (Age 17)
Among many other things, seeing the
underdog perform in life is what makes me confident.
The one, who, despite all the odds
against him/her, pushes back and excels unexpectedly,
is what gives me motivation.
After all, as the saying goes "Hope
is the fuel for progress." And those, who possess this fuel, are my
inspiration. Like…
A timid creature like a spider, which,
despite falling countless times from a tree, doesn't give up and keeps on
trying until he succeeds… The disabled, who aren't discouraged by the
challenges they have to face every day... Yes, I get my inspiration from them.
In conclusion, what makes me confident
are people, who, when their chips are down, instead of saying "Why
me?" choose to say "Try me!"
SPEAKING FROM THE DEPTH OF MY HEART
MAKES ME CONFIDENT
- Shreeshay Patel (Age 16)
Speaking from the depth of my heart makes me confident…
For, there is no script …Whatever you speak is what
you've had in yourself
and wanted to express it in front of the people.
As quoted in the Dawn Club book, ‘Vaachas Chame’:
“If you have a story and you are dying to tell it…
If you have a cause and you are willing to fight for it,
Nobody needs to teach you how to speak in public.”
Secondly, what makes me confident is speaking before an
unfamiliar audience.
When I speak to them, I reason out in my mind, “Hey these
guys do not know
who I am and how I am… I have nothing to worry about when
I speak to them.”
So, I get to create an impression on them easily… And,
that makes me confident.
Lastly, I would like to quote from ‘Vaachas Chame’, once
again:
“The mind has to think,
The heart has to feel,
and the mouth has to speak.”
To me, confidence is when my mouth speaks what my heart
feels and mind thinks.
MY NEVER-GIVING -UP NATURE
MAKES ME CONFIDENT
- Saman.V. Dhote (Age
15)
When I am on stage, the support of
the audience makes me confident.
When I play, cheering for me makes me confident.
Support of my best friends make
me confident.
Motivation from my all family
members makes me confident.
My thoughts and positive thinking
makes me confident.
My personality makes me feel confident.
My never-giving -up nature makes me confident.
Motivation from all teachers and coaches makes me confident.
Last, but not the least, because
confidence is endless,
my happiness makes me confident.
COMPLETING MY
WORK WITH PERFECTION
MADE ME
CONFIDENT
-
Sahas Sharma (Age 16)
When I was young, the
appreciation from my mother and teachers on completing my work made me confident. To see my teachers, parents,
brother and my friends having faith in me… yes, it makes me confident.
As
I grew up, I started believing in myself and started to give my hundred percent
to my work… and completing my work with perfection made me confident.
So,
I would like to conclude, that believing that I can achieve my goals makes me
confident.
WHEN I AM TRYING TO SOLVE MY RUBIK’S
CUBE
AND SOMEONE CHEERS ME FOR THAT,
I FEEL CONFIDENT
- Darpan Valecha (Age
15)
When I have the knowledge
about the topics that I am dealing with,
it makes me feel
confident.
When I am trying to
solve my rubik’s cube and someone cheers me for that,
I feel confident.
When I do not
understand about any topic in my studies, I ask my parents to help me…
When I am able to
understand their explanation and write well in my exams,
I feel very
confident.
When Gerry sir invites
me on the stage, and if I am able to express
my views well on
the subject given to me, I feel very confident.
(P.S.: These are the impromptu speeches made by our on-going PD-course students on the topic: ‘WHAT
MAKES ME CONFIDENT’. I shall be
sharing them here on my blog for some days, and
they will be published in a book by the same title on 12th June, 2016, the day of the
certification.)
