WHEN THE MOON GETS BORING...

“I find them boring, these days,” my wife said this morning.

She was talking about my Blog Posts!

I smiled and said, “It means, you should take a break; stop reading them!”

“But…” she wanted to say something!

I have been writing like this for over three decades now… Anything and everything that touches me… small or big, one line or ten pages… happy, sad or mad. Whatever comes along my way, which my heart feels, soul wants to celebrate…

I call them my ‘notes’… I used to write them anywhere – in my dairies, on the used-envelopes, on torn sheets… anywhere…

Sometimes, I would read them for my friends… All my books came from them, and will come from them…

I turned them into my Blog Posts about five years ago… began to root them through FB since this March…

Yes, I have been writing like this just the way I have been eating my ‘staple food’ – rice and curry or sabji and chapatis… Just the way I have been taking bath or just the way I have been breathing or praying…

And, all along, I had enough reasons to be bored of whatever I was doing…

I had enough reasons to be bored of writing…

I had enough reasons to be bored of teaching…

I had enough reasons to be bored of breathing…

I had enough reasons to be bored of praying…

I had enough reasons to be bored of bathing…

I had enough reasons to be bored of eating...

I had enough reasons to be bored of watching TV or films…

I had enough reasons to be bored of even doubting, envying and fearing…

Even loving, caring, hoping and dreaming!

I told my wife, this morning, that I had never seen up to the skies for days and days on now… Never seen the Sun and the clouds… Never seen the Moon and the Stars… Still, the Sun, the Moon, the Stars and the clouds did not need my approval or appreciation to go about their job… Frankly, I was bored of them…

‘Just the routine thing’… I took them for granted… When did I see the last sunrise or sunset? When did I hear roar of the sea or song of the stream, last time?

“I am bored of you,” was my complaint to the Sun and the sea, to the Stars and the streams…

“Take a break,” they all had smiled!

So, like the Sun who did what he liked, and the clouds which did what they had to… Like the sea which did what no one else was supposed to… and the Moon and the streams which did what they were blessed with…

Yes, like all of them, I, too, will continue to do what I am destined to… what keeps my heart and soul eternally young and hopeful…

There are seasons when Moon goes into hiding…

Stars and clouds go on a vacation…

Even the Sun wakes up late on some days

and retires early…

The streams go dry and songs go silent…

Yes, absence keeps the heart longing…

“I miss you,” this can come only when my heart longs… when someone takes a break… from me!

So, am I bored of writing?

Not now.

At times, yes… yes!

But, I know that is only to help me take my break…

Only to keep my heart longing…

and say – “I miss you”!

In fact, if boredom is not there, there won't be any creativity. Nicely written. Ishwar

Very nice post. I find life a monotonous routine, boring but i realised if i am in love everyday, then life seems so beautiful......the sun, the moon, the trees, the sky everything seems new......because i am in love everyday of my life. With whom am i in love......with the supreme being, one day i think of Krishna, and then one day the divine mother then my Guru. So i feel the best way to live is to love......every second and God is everywhere....in our hearts.......call it Krishna, Rama or Guru......just be in love.......divine love.
