THE DANCE OF MY SOUL...
“Let not
the Sun go down on your wrath.”
When the
Sun goes up, if I leave home with anger, banging the door behind, then, I
can not expect to return to a happy home. I can not expect an angel to open the
door for me.
Likewise, if I go to sleep with anger in my soul,
I can not expect to rise with a dancing soul.
If home is not a safe place, no other place under
the Sun is…
If happiness can not be found right under my
roof, it can not be found under the canopy of God’s sky…
Wherever I go, I carry myself…
The world outside is the reflection of the world
inside…
An angry man has to calm down. Else, his anger is
bound to turn into poison of his soul…
The death of his anger is the birth of his
compassion!
Therefore, I don’t pray to God for a life without
anger. For, the Holy Books have enough instances of God burning with anger!
I pray to Him, to help me see the light of
compassion as the candle burns… To help me resolve my anger before the Sun goes
down… Make peace before I sleep… Before I pray!
Today, when
I was leaving home, I felt the surge of this happiness. I felt the touch of
compassion… I felt the dance of my soul!
How often do we all leave home with anger… and
then wonder, all through the day: “Why do we do it?”… “How can we go back to a
happy home?”
Yes, I hope, I am speaking to my mortal brothers
and sisters… all with feet of clay… and all who live in those ‘glass houses’!
I do, often, leave home with anger. I do, often,
go to sleep with anger. I do wonder, often: “Why do I do it?”
So, today, when there was immense happiness in my
soul, I felt strongly for the Biblical words:
“Let not
the Sun go down on your wrath.”
Make peace before the night falls!
.
Christ also had taught this:
“When you
go to God’s temple
with your offering,
And, there,
if you suddenly remember your brother
Against
whom you have a grudge,
I say to
you, leave your gifts at the altar,
Go back to
your brother,
make peace with him…
And, then
come back
and offer your gifts to God.”
This morning, I am convinced, more than ever,
that, there is no other way to seek happiness. Or, God.
